Friday 15 March, 7pm -  Parramatta Town Square

The opening night Welcome Parade for the 2019 Parramasala Festival will be an exciting and colourful kick-off to this three-day extravaganza of multicultural arts, food, and entertainment. The vibrant procession of more than 600 participants drawn from diverse communities across Sydney, floats and dancers, will include Lebanese drummers, a Uruguayan candombe, a Bollywood Dance Group, a dragon and lion dance! The parade will run from Parramatta Town Hall (Centenary Square) to the festival’s home in Prince Alfred Square, where the weekend of festivities will officially begin. Expect a kaleidoscope of colour and celebration, perfectly brought together to entice all the senses.

Join the thousands of spectators who will line the streets to watch in awe as the procession moves through Parramatta, capturing hearts and sparking imagination in its wake.

Long Table Brunch - I Will Eat With You

Sunday 17 March, 10.30am - Prince Alfred Square

Sharing food, stories and community is what the Parramasala Long Table brunch is all about. It’s an all-inclusive environment, with no RSVPs necessary and everyone is welcome. Invitations are extended directly to local community, faith groups and festival friends from all walks of life, and all will be considered equal at the table.

Experience the simple beauty of people joining together with no agendas or co-opting of the gathering – politicians, religious leaders and community members enjoying a multicultural feast to delight the senses, and nothing more.

Ease into Sunday as we bring together diverse intercultural and interfaith groups for a celebration of food and community, with entertainers from the World Dance Congress and the sensory delights from the World Food Market Stall holders. Come and share your story at the table where everyone has a place.
