Parramatta Lanes will also present two major art commissions supported by the Environmental Authority Waste-Less program:

  • 'Love Birds' by Zara Pasfield features 120 parrots flying overhead as a canopy using 100% recycled materials and the artwork is 100% carbon neutral. You can make your ‘waste-less pledge’ here too. Location: Red Cow Lane
  • 'Message in a Bottle' by Paper Moose is a light art installation, telling the story of littering and its impact on the natural environment – the ugly story of a plastic bottle and the journey it takes when disposed of incorrectly. Location: Batman Walk

The festival will also feature:

  • 'Intangible Goods' by Mark Starmach & Elizabeth Commandeur imagines what it might look like if we could shop for our psychological and emotional needs, as easily as our more superficial ones. Designed to feed your psyche, not your sweet tooth. Made with mental health professionals. All proceeds from the work go to support local mental health charities Parramatta Mission, Headspace, and Flourish Australia. Location: City C​​​​​​entre Car Park
  • RE:MOTE by Shaun Parker & Co. Contemporary dance meets gaming technology in this ground-breaking new work by Shaun Parker and Company. Location: Roaming
  • Aqueous Disco with the Dollar Bin Darlings Ladies and gentlemen and everybody in between, The Dollar Bin Darlings are bringing their Disco Manifesto to the lanes of Parramatta. Their roving dancefloor is waiting just around the next corner to transform the city’s streets into a party for anybody and everybody.Location: Roaming
  • Msg me When You Get There? by Anna McMahon & Salote Tawale describes a conversation between people on their way to find each other at Parramatta Lanes. These series of banners are presented in the five main language groups of the Parramatta area - English, Mandarin, Korean, Hindi & Arabic. Location: City street banners. 

Parramatta Artists Studios 

Parramatta Artists Studios opens its doors where you can take a look inside an artist’s studio, experience artist Rosie Deacon’s fantastical Moving Forest, and help grow the forest with your own colourful creations. Meet an artist, see their studio and get an insight into the energetic creative process at Parramatta Artists Studios, an initiative of the City of Parramatta.
